HUANXI Media is an innovative media company in China, focusing on investment and
production of films, drama series, and operation of a subscription based OTT
platform.
The company was founded by Mr. Dong Ping , Ning Hao , Xu Zheng and Steven Xiang in
2015,
and listed on Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE: 1003).
Ownership interests of a number of top Chinese movie directors in the company, closely aligns interests of the company with those of China’s top movie directors, which allows HUANXI to have the right to produce high-quality movies and drama series for internet media platforms.
Under its arrangement with these top-tier directors, HUANXI has the exclusive rights to invest and produce films by China’s most prominent directors for multiple years. HUANXI’s directors include Ning Hao, Xu Zheng, Peter Chan, Wong Kar Wai, Zhang Yibai, Gu Changwei, Zhang Yimou, Jia Zhangke. HUANXI’s goal is to become the most important producer of high-quality contents for cinematic release as well as media distribution platforms in China.

Mr. Dong has extensive knowledge, experience and connection in Chinese media industry, and has won more than 50 major awards in various film festivals.
Mr. Dong has been the principal investor and producer of many internationally renowned films, including Papa, Full River Red, Warn Hug, One Second, Leap, Run For Young, Lost in Russia, Crazy Alien, Ash is Purest White, Dying to Survive, Us and Them, Brotherhood of Blades II: The Infernal Battlefield, Breakup Buddies, Journey to The West, Let the Bullets Fly, Peacock, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Devils on the Doorstep, The Emperor And The Assassin and Keep Cool.

Mr. Xiang was appointed as CEO of the company in September 2015.
Mr. Xiang has extensive knowledge and experience in strategic planning, operation and management, investment and transactions in Chinese media industry. Recent film projects he has invested in include Papa, Full River Red, Warn Hug, One Second, Leap, Run For Young, Lost in Russia, Crazy Alien, Ash is Purest White, Dying to Survive, Us and Them, Brotherhood of Blades II: The Infernal Battlefield and Lost in Hong Kong.
Before joining Huanxi, Mr. Xiang was a seasoned M&A lawyer. He was partner in the Shanghai office of Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP and led its China practice, and partner in the Shanghai office of Clifford Chance.

Zhang Yibai, like many other modern Chinese directors, has focused primarily on life in modern Chinese cities.
